Scapino

HFCC takes on Moliere’s ‘Scapino’

Sue Suchyta Dearborn Times Herald August 2004

Henry Ford Community College has undertaken the difficult challenge of presenting “The Adventures of Scapino”, a farce by French playwright Moliere. Professor Gerry Dzublinski translated, adapted and directed the production. While the show has some fine moments of comedy, and displays the students’ obvious dedication and hard work, the troupe of young actors have taken on a challenge way beyond their depth. Scapino is the story of a clever lowlife who feeds off the foibles of others to enrich his own purse. He’s part con man and part thief.
