Anne of Green Gables Is A Solid ProductionSue Suchyta Dearborn Times Herald December 2000
The cast and crew of Henry Ford Community College’s fall production, “Anne of Green Gables,” presented a solid show last weekend. The strengths added to overall production while the shortcomings detracted a little. The running time of 100 minutes without intermission is a bit much for a children’s audience.
Thanks to the multitude of scenes in different settings, the way the transition between sequences were handled by the tech crew and the fine performances, the story passes quickly and does not allow much time for young play-goers to get bored.

Henry Ford Community College presents the heartwarming story “Anne of Green Gables” in Adray Auditorium at The Mackenzie Fine Arts Center for one more weekend. The college’s annual holiday play is a treat for parents and children alike, and is a nice break from the highly commercialized kid movies that inundate us this time of the year. Directed by Gerry Dzublinski, the play has a beautiful set strong leads but a weak supporting cast who tend to recite their lines more than deliver them. Once this acting sin is forgiven, the show is enjoyable and entertaining.
