HFCC Theater presents the classic tale of young Hiawatha who is captured by the Mohawks and forced to undergo the challenging gantlet before being adopted into a warrior society he does not believe in. Befriended by an old medicine man who helps him escape and sends him on a vision quest, Hiawatha is guided by a bear spirit to a new vision of peace and cooperation among the tribes. This is a story of bravery and perseverance, suitable for grades 2 through 8. The show will feature music based on original tribal chants and a stunning multi-level set. Due to overwhelming popular demand, we have expanded to two weeks of matinees for school groups and three big weekends for families and other groups.
